you like me today
tomorrow, who knows
i'm spose to just trust it and
flow as it goes

but i'm scared and i hate
i don't trust your hand
today you reach out
tomorrow i'm slammed

trust and hope are my
two greatest foes
they think it's just easy
to flow as it goes

but i can't, i just can't
and you don't understand
why i don't trust you
why i don't take your hand

but i know you don't see me
today while you smile
and when you get closer
you'll hate and revile

i've seen it, i know it
oh i know the score
i'm not as stupid
as i was before

i'm stiff now, unyielding
so when your wind blows
i won't and i can't just
flow as it goes.
